Aaron:
Biggest Loser Season 10
Starting Weight on The Biggest Loser Show: 468 lbs.
Starting Weight on The Biggest Loser Meal Plan: 371 lbs.
Current Weight: 296 lbs.
During his time on The Biggest Loser® Ranch, Aaron learned not only about fitness and nutrition, but also that he needed to work on changing his overall mindset and how he lived his life as well.
"I was a lazy eater; lazy at cooking and I didn't prepare anything. I would go most of the day without eating, but then I would just load up all night on take-out or restaurant food -- 1000's of calories at night, every night." His typical day involved getting up, taking care of his son, going to class and then working on projects on his computer all day.
By the time he'd left the Ranch, Aaron had lost an amazing 97 pounds, but he knew he had a lot of work left to do, and the task was daunting.
"It was an adjustment, coming home from the ranch," Aaron recalls. "I was feeling depressed because I felt overwhelmed with trying to change not just my own life, but everybody's life around me. It was an adjustment for everyone."
The key for Aaron was finding a way to eat healthy that meshed with his fast-paced, convenience-loving lifestyle. Enter The Biggest Loser Meal Plan!
"The main reason I gained so much weight to begin with was because I'm a convenience eater. Fast food is just so easy and convenient," he explains.
"The Biggest Loser Meal Plan is like a match made in heaven for me. You don't have to worry about preparing it, figuring out the calories or anything like that -- it's just convenient! It works with my weakness. My weakness has been convenience and the meal plan has allowed that to be one of my strengths! I can continue to be me and doing the plan works!"
Aside from being easy to stick with, Aaron also says the taste of The Biggest Loser Meal Plan food was a huge plus. He tried other meal delivery plans, and they didn't compare.
"The taste, oh man, that's what's so shocking. It tastes great, it tastes like real food!" he says. "This may sound bad, but I tried Nutrisystem before going on the show. I remember paying all this money for it and then throwing almost all of it away.
"When I tasted this, though, it was real food! I was skeptical at first, but it tastes real. I love that. And there are so many things to pick from!"
Aaron also enlisted the help of a personal trainer and now does Crossfit workouts twice a day. "I'm in better shape now than when I played football. I can jump down and pop-up and I can do a pull-up! I can finally do a pullup! That's a huge accomplishment for me. My next will be when I can dunk! And I'm power-lifting now!"
With The Biggest Loser Meal Plan, Aaron lost an additional 75 pounds after leaving the show! And power-lifting, pull-ups, Crossfit workouts? What a huge improvement over where Aaron was before beginning this weight-loss journey!
When you combine the 97 pounds he lost on the Ranch with the incredible 75 pounds he lost at home with The Biggest Loser Meal Plan, Aaron's weight-loss total is up to 172 pounds and still counting!
Aaron tried out for The Biggest Loser three times before being accepted onto the Ranch. At that time, his weight had reached an all-time high of 468 pounds.
He first tried for Season 6, and when he didn't make it he decided he was definitely going to lose the weight so he could enlist in the military. He was around 400 pounds at the time, and lost 70 pounds on his own, but just before he was about to enlist, he received word that his father had died. In that first weekend he gained back nearly 10 pounds, and then the weight just started to pile on. Aaron never enlisted in the military; he gave up on it while his depression worsened as he continued to gain all the weight back and then some.
He tried out a second time and was once again turned down. He had given up on joining the show, until he had a scare when he woke up not being able to breathe. That motivated him to give it one more shot, and that's how Aaron came to be part of The Biggest Loser Season 10.
These days Aaron is feeling great, and happier than ever: "I'm happy! I'm happy for the first time, I think, ever. I'm actually defining my own success now. It's so important to define your own success, meet your own goals and not let anyone set the goals for you. You have to do things in the right order -- change the way you think, change your food and then you can change into your exercise clothes." We look forward to seeing Aaron continue to transform his life with a lot of hard work, exercise and The Biggest Loser Meal Plan.
