Anna:
Biggest Loser Season 10
Starting Weight on The Biggest Loser Show: 330 lbs.
Starting Weight on The Biggest Loser Meal Plan: 281 lbs.
Current Weight: 221 lbs.
The past 10 years have been lonely and hard for Anna. She says she'd pretty much given up on trying to lose weight. Her energy was very low and she had a hectic schedule. She'd basically get up in the morning, go to her job as an administrative assistant, leave for the recording studio (she's also a professional song writer), work another five or six long hours, then go home, watch TV, eat and get to bed.
Anna describes her former eating habits as terrible. She'd considered lapband or gastric bypass surgery. In addition to the typical "I have no time" excuse, she also used her high blood pressure and herniated disk as additional excuses for not working out.
She simply didn't know where to start. Anna had applied to be on The Biggest Loser four times. She couldn't believe when she was chosen, and she was totally devastated when she lost the very first challenge and was sent home.
"Having my son watch me lose, it literally ripped me apart. I had that image of how he looked at me embedded in my mind… he was devastated, he was sad," Anna recalls. "I for once heard him and how upset he was with me being overweight. It wasn't just about me anymore, it was about him and how bad he hurt. I didn't want my child to have to take care of me at an early age; I realized how unfair that was to him and his life."
So when she found out there would be an opportunity for one contestant to return to the show, she wanted to show her son she wasn't as weak as she appeared.
"I'm not weak at all!" she says. And she definitely proved she wasn't. Anna lost 39 pounds on her own and won the weigh-in that brought her back to the ranch. She'd done it - shown her son, America and herself that she could do it.
Anna lost an additional 10 pounds on the ranch, and then had to adapt once again to doing it at home when she was sent home a second time. That's when
The Biggest Loser Meal Plan by eDiets became key to her weight-loss success. "The Biggest Loser Meal Plan food is great!" Anna raves. "To be able to just go to the fridge and pull one out as opposed to having to prepare something -- it really works in my favor."
By eating the healthy,
she's not only continued to lose weight, but she says her energy has definitely improved and her son is so excited to see the difference in her: "He says I look different every time he comes home from school!"
"And I'm trying new stuff -- I climbed a 30-foot wall! I used to try things, I used to be daring and it's coming back. That's the girl I used to be and it feels good to have her back. All these things I've been through, all the adversity… I'm going to be 'physically fit Anna' who's overcome a major mountain in her life!"
With The Biggest Loser Meal Plan and daily exercise, she's lost another 60 pounds on her own, bringing her grand total to 109 pounds so far!
"You CAN do this," she wants people to know.
"You can still live life and lose the weight and maintain your life and your health."
