Starting Weight on The Biggest Loser Meal Plan: 204 lbs.
Current Weight: 131 lbs.

“We were just eating one of those meals right now!” said Denise when we called her for this interview. “I had all my kids eating the food from The Biggest Loser Meal Plan just now. It’s been really great just being able to grab something out of the fridge and not have to worry about the calories or the nutrition, something that tastes good!”

At 59, Denise had tried just about every diet out there. She says “I’ve been dieting since I had my kids, and I have eight! With each child I gained weight and never lost it. You name a diet and I’ve been on it.”

Denise had watched every season of The Biggest Loser and had been inspired by the dramatic changes that people have made. Denise also realized that she had to lose the weight if she wanted to be around to enjoy her grandchildren and watch them grow up. She talked her daughter Sarah into going to the open casting call for Season 10. Sarah was called back for Season 11 and was asked to bring her Mom. “They liked both our stories,” Denise says, “Sarah hasn’t been able to get pregnant because of her weight, and I’ve passed my poor eating habits on to my kids.”

Her time at The Biggest Loser Ranch was a turning point. Denise left the ranch after losing 52 pounds, but she found the transition to ‘the real world’ very difficult. She came home at Christmas and had to maintain her healthy eating regimen while there were cookies and cakes around all the time. Denise says she used to be an emotional eater, but has learned to get comfort from other activities like exercise and healthy eating. She has even discovered that she actually enjoys fruits and vegetables. “I’ve made such a commitment to living healthy that I won’t stop,” said Denise, “I had always looked for the quick fix diets, but they’re not maintainable so I would just gain it right back. I’ve been eating healthy and exercising since The Biggest Loser and it works! It’s just calories in and calories out. And that’s why The Biggest Loser Meal Plan works so great for me; it’s a 1,200 calorie diet and that’s just what I need. I really like the Turkey Meatloaf and the Cheesy Stuffed Chicken Breast with Brown Rice.”

Denise has lost an additional 39 pounds at home so far! Now down a total of 91 pounds, lately Denise has been having fun going through her closets and fitting into smaller sizes, “Ok this fits…and then a week later it’s too big. Except that now I’m out of clothes! Everything is just too big. People can’t believe I’m that thin, or that I’ve got a butt! It’s really fun! This is the first time I have been the weight I am now in probably 30 years!”
