"It's definitely possible for anyone, I am proof that this can be done."

At 407lbs, Erik was told by a doctor that he was morbidly obese and had no chance of losing enough weight on his own to get healthy. The doctor recommended lap-band/gastric bypass surgery. He scheduled the surgery, but found the inner strength to lose the weight on Season 3 of The Biggest Loser. His goal when he went on the show was simple - "to just look like a normal person, not have to shop at big/tall stores…I wanted to blend in with everyone else, didn't want kids to be embarrassed." But when he got to the ranch he found out he had all kinds of health problems - type II diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. So a shift came: "Lose the weight so I can live. I wanted to be there for my kids, want to be able to walk down the aisle with my girls. I wanted to live." Erik lost 214 lbs at the ranch.

Erik maintained his finale weight for about a year and a half. But over the course of the next couple years, he gained most of it back. He experienced that same "impossible" feeling, but he found the strength again and has lost over 140 of the weight he had gained. Now Erik says: " … I've become more outgoing, more approachable, my energy level has like quadrupled. I remember taking my kids to the park and sitting and watching them play and now I am running around with them…now I wear them out before they wear me out - not running out of steam. Taught my 5 year old to to ride a 2-wheeler…I was afraid of that before because I knew I had to run behind her as she tried to ride..I was afraid because I knew it involved running. Now I'm not worried about parking really close because it was such a struggle to walk. Now I take the steps."

Erik is using the Biggest Loser Meal Plan by eDiets to lose more weight and achieve his goal.He says: "The Biggest Loser Meal Plan by eDiets, in comparison to what we ate at the ranch, is more variety, much more gourmet, different lunches and different dinner each day. Nutrition and calories…distribution of carbs, protein and vegetable are similar, but the variety is the big difference."

"The food tastes very good! I like it a lot. I really enjoy the breakfasts…really like the egg sandwich with Canadian bacon, pancakes..it's delicious. My wife has tried it too and she's enjoyed it as well!"

"What I like best about the Biggest Loser Meal Plan by eDiets is the convenience and the taste - just a one-two punch with those things. A lot of times the reason we fall off the wagon is because it's a challenge to prepare these types of meals. It takes effort, you gotta put in the time, but when you're busy it can be a challenge. With this I can just put a Biggest Loser Meal Plan meal in the microwave and I'm getting something that's healthy and nutritious that also tastes good. This takes the thinking out of it. They've done the thinking for you. Just follow the plan, eat the 3 meals, eat the snack and it's going to work for anybody!"
