Before The Biggest Loser, I was a teacher and football coach. By the time the day was done I was so exhausted, I would just plant myself on the couch. It was pretty sad. I used all my energy just to get through the day. I do the cooking at home, and when I am coaching I eat a lot of meals out. I would eat breakfast at the school cafeteria, and go out with the other coaches for lunch. So I was cooking unhealthy meals at home and eating a lot of fast food.

I auditioned for The Biggest Loser because I was really desperate for a change. I absolutely felt like I was willing to put all my emotions out there. I wanted to change so bad - I was willing to take my shirt off in front of millions of Americans. I needed help. In the hotel room before I knew whether I had been selected, I had decided to make a change whether or not I made it onto the show.

The biggest thing I learned is that I needed to renegotiate my relationship with food. I realize that food is fuel for our bodies; it is simply to keep us operating - no more, no less. It is not something for us to take solace in or get comfort from.

I love the fact that the food from The Biggest Loser Meal Plan is fresh packed - not a bunch of processed or freeze-dried food. It is fresh food. It really shocked me - honestly I was so surprised that it was fresh food being delivered, chilled in coolers. All the nutritional info is on the Web site where I can access it easily.

The Biggest Loser Meal Plan helps me make the most of my time. My time is so valuable. I develop my menu once a week and the food shows up. I know exactly what I am eating. I plan what I am going to eat, and when the food arrives, I am executing the plan. It's plug-and-play at that point - so easy.

When we waver from the plan, that's when we make a mistake. In football, we call the play in the huddle and then run the play. That's how I think of The Biggest Loser Meal Plan.

And the food is delicious. I love anything with turkey and love the quinoa. I get a good smattering of vegetables and quinoa. Oh, do I love the turkey dishes! I love the variety of choices. It's incredible. If I feel a craving for something, it's there. The entrees selection is amazing; the menu is so extensive.

Now that I have lost so much weight, I am taking my son snow skiing this winter. I haven't gone skiing since high school. Now I am able to run with the boys at football practice. I am going to run 5Ks, half-marathons and marathons. I am planning on running a triathlon. I'm going to live life to the fullest now. I'm not going to miss out on life - not for another minute!

My advice to anyone who is thinking about starting a weight-loss program is: Make a small goal, an attainable, realistic goal. Achieve that and then keep stringing together a series of small goals. By small and simple things, great things come to pass.
