“I’m still on the go, still running around a lot -- so instead of going to fast food restaur
ants when I don’t have the time to prepare a meal, I can just grab one of these.
They’re delicious and they’re within my calorie budget. It’s a healthy substitute for the not-so-healthy choices I’ve made in the past. It’s a great help on this journey.”
Larialmy works full time and attends graduate school part time. As a result of her very busy schedule, at least one and sometimes two meals a day used to be from a fast food restaurant. At 325 pounds, Larialmy found herself unable to walk up a flight of stairs without gasping for air. It was then that she knew, “I just needed to change my life and get myself together”.
She and her husband JaQuin made the decision to lose weight together. She started making small changes in her lifestyle about a month before going on to The Biggest Loser. She was still eating fast food, but Larialmy tried to make better choices and began working out three to five days each week for at least 30 minutes.
Once she arrived at The Biggest Loser Ranch, Larialmy found the resources and information she needed to help her successfully lose weight this time. She credits the trainers with helping her achieve her weight loss so far and helping her stay healthy even after the show.
Larialmy says that The Biggest Loser Meal Plan has also helped a great deal. “My faves are the breakfasts! Love the apple sausage and pancakes, I order that like every meal! Also at dinner, I love the Cheesy Stuffed Chicken with Brown Rice. All the meals are really good though; it’s kind of hard to choose!”
The transition from the show back to regular life at home was very smooth for her. “My family and friends have been very respectful and supportive,” she said. “Everyone knew the changes I had made while I was away. My siblings came to work out with me when I got back, so it wasn’t completely overwhelming and difficult to come back home after the isolation and being away and only focusing on myself.”
With the combination of proper nutrition and regular exercise, Larialmy has lost 34 pounds since leaving the ranch. She now has a new lease on life and says, “I definitely have a lot more energy; I used to be sluggish and tired all the time. I’ve replaced all those bad habits with good habits – I’m not sluggish at all now! I sleep a lot better and have a lot more energy. Just physically and mentally, it’s been a wonderful transition, a 360 and I’m not even finished yet – I’m excited about it!”
