“When I started to receive The Biggest Loser Meal Plan meals, it was just so much more convenient. So easy! I didn’t have to worry about cooking my meals ahead of time or portioning them out. It’s just a lot easier when it’s right there in black and white… the calories and everything I was putting in my body.”

Sandra Skelton never spent one night at The Biggest Loser Ranch. However, she spent a short period of time at The Biggest Loser Resort before going home to lose weight as an “at home” contestant for The Biggest Loser Season 10.

“Before The Biggest Loser, I would eat fast food for two out of three meals every day. My excuse was that I have four kids and its convenient.” she says. It’s easy to see why convenience was important to Sandra as she’s a busy working mom of four, and a student herself!

“What I found with having The Biggest Loser meals is that you really can’t get any more convenient and I don’t have to put the rest of my family on a diet along with me – I can make them what they need.”

Motivated by the passing of her older brother from obesity-related conditions, Sandra decided to lose weight for good this time. “When I found out what happened to my brother, it was instantaneous. This can’t happen to me! I have kids, my husband; I have to get myself healthy. It suddenly became real. I woke up.”

Doing it all on her own, without the support at the Ranch or from other contestants, Sandra remains positive about her weight loss. She says, “I think there was a reason that I ended up doing it like I did. There are so many people who try out for The Biggest Loser and don’t make it. I’m that person who can say, ’You know what? You can do this on your own! You don’t need to be on the Ranch. You may need a little assistance with things like The Biggest Loser Meals, but you can do this!”

Those are inspiring words! Sandra started out the season at 259 pounds, and through a combination of eating right, The Biggest Loser Meal Plan and exercise, she’s now sitting at 209 pounds with a total loss of 50 pounds!

“When I started to receive the meals, it was so much more convenient and easy. It’s easy to grab and take to work, easy to food journal and see what I had eaten!” Sandra says she loves all of the pasta meals, especially the Chicken Parmesan, as well as the pancake breakfasts.

Fitness wise, we all saw Sandra struggle through the 500-step challenge on the first episode of The Biggest Loser. She’s come a long way since those days. “When I first started, the 500-step challenge was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done! I think I would have rather had a baby! I was so discouraged that I couldn’t do it that it became a source of motivation. I went home and bought a stepper because I was determined to do it.” Sandra also runs now. “I actually enjoy it now!”

These days Sandra makes the time to take care of herself and play with her kids. “Before I wasn’t as active with my children; now I’m not so lazy and they’ve noticed the change. My nine-year-old daughter put her arms around me and said, “Wow, Mom, you’re skinny!”

I feel great! I just want to get to a single-digit size just to say that I’m there. I’ll be good there. I just want to be healthy.”
